HOP-ON HOP-OFF SIGHTSEEING ACROSS THE CITY 

HOP-ON HOP-OFF

Hop-on and hop-off at any of our dedicated Auckland Explorer Bus stops along the tour route, using your 24 or 48-hour pass. 

Purchase your ticket online and present the confirmation email to the Auckland Explorer Bus street sales ambassadors at Stop 1 or 2 to redeem your bus pass. Keep it in a safe place and show it to the driver each time you hop back on the bus.

Ticket availability is restricted per day.  To avoid disappointment, we recommend booking online prior to departure.

SIGHTSEEING ROUTES

Our hop-on hop-off sightseeing tour includes two routes – the Red Inner Tour and the Blue Outer Tour. The Red Inner Tour route starts and finishes at our main Downtown Auckland stop, which connects with the Blue Outer Tour at the Auckland Museum.

The Red Inner Tour covers downtown and central Auckland plus eastern Auckland highlights, including the Sky Tower, Auckland Art Gallery, Newmarket, the Auckland War Memorial Museum, and SEA LIFE Kelly Tarlton’s Aquarium.

The Blue Outer Tour covers central and western Auckland, with highlights including Mt Eden / Maungawhau, Auckland Zoo and MOTAT. The Blue Outer Tour is only available over the Summer period each year (November – April).

Along the route, you will learn about the history of this diverse modern city and what makes Auckland one of the world’s most desirable places to live. Our entertaining commentary is provided in English. 

The Red Inner Tour takes approximately 70 minutes to complete a full, non-stop loop and the Blue Outer Tour takes approximately 50 minutes to complete a full, non-stop loop.

TIMETABLE

Our tour departs regularly throughout the day, every 30 minutes from all stops*.

Red Inner Tour Timetable:

  • First bus departs at 9 am from Downtown Auckland stop (Stop 1)
  • Last bus departs at 4 pm from the Downtown Auckland stop (Stop 1)
  • Last tour terminates at 5 pm at the Downtown Auckland stop (Stop 1)

Blue Outer Tour Timetable:

  • First bus departs at 9.30 am from Auckland Museum stop (Stop 5)
  • Last bus departs at 3.30 pm from Auckland Museum stop (Stop 5)
  • Last tour terminates at 4.20 pm at Auckland Museum stop (Stop 5)

Are you staying in the CBD? The first bus from Stop 2 departs at 9.05 am, and the first bus from Stop 3 departs at 9.10 am.
