MOTAT (Museum of Transport and Technology) is New Zealand's largest transport and technology museum of its kind and offers a fun and exciting learning experience for visitors of all ages.
With ever-changing exhibitions, school holiday experiences, unique events and live activities, MOTAT is a great place for a family day out. MOTAT is a rich learning environment for all ages and tells stories about New Zealand aviation, energy, communications, rail, road transport, tramways and emergency and defence.
Spread across 40 acres over two sites, MOTAT Great North Road and MOTAT Meola Road, explore and discover the achievements that have helped shape New Zealand, from the 1800s to today.
This stop also services Western Springs Lakeside Park. Western Springs is a wildlife sanctuary surrounding a natural spring-fed lake, one of Auckland's early water supplies. The park is surrounded by a cluster of major nearby attractions including the Auckland Zoo, MOTAT, Chamberlain Park Golf Course and Western Springs stadium.
