Q. Where can we pick up the Auckland Explorer Bus?
The Auckland Explorer Bus leaves from beside the Ferry Building on Quay St, Downtown Auckland. Most cruise ships berth at Princes Wharf which is also on Quay St and a 5 minute walk to the Ferry Building.

When disembarking the ship, exit the terminal and walk down Princes Wharf to the main road which is Quay St. Turn left on Quay St and walk in front of the ship. The large old terracotta coloured building with the clock tower is the Ferry Building, the bus stop is located just past the Ferry Building.
If the ship is berthed at Queens Wharf then the bus stop is literally at the gate.

Q. How do I get a brochure?
You can print off the web site,from driver or more than likely our people will meet you when you disembark.

Q. How often do the buses leave?
There is a bus leaving the Ferry Building bus stop every 30 minutes 9am to 5pm October to mid April.
During the winter months the bus leaves hourly starting at 10am.

Q. Do I need to book?
There is no need to book for the Auckland Explorer Bus, just join the circuit when you are ready.
More buses are brought onto the circuit as numbers requires.

Q. Where do I buy a ticket?
You can book online on this web site or you can buy a ticket from the driver if you have cash. American and Australian dollars also accepted.
$US25 and $A30 each is accepted by the driver.

If you wish to pay by credit card then tickets can be purchased from the travel desk inside the Ferry Building.

Q. Can I return to the ship for lunch?
Absolutely, as the bus operates on a hop on hop off system if you wish to return to the ship for lunch just walk back from the Ferry Building bus stop, then join the bus again in the afternoon. However, as New Zealand has a reputation for excellent food it would be a shame not to try some local cuisine while you are here.
